Degli Olmi

I have mixed feelings about the place. The service was exceptional, and the owner was very kind. At the same time, the room was very small for the price. There was no lift, so we had to climb two floors up every time with a baby and luggage. The window was too small. (A bit claustrophobic). We stayed at Scanno afterward, and the room was a lot bigger for a cheaper price with a great view of the lake. Now the food was exceptional, but at the same time, the dinner's portion sizes were very small, lol. The staff was very friendly but didn't wait for me to finish my meal off the plate. They were always in a hurry to take my plate away when I hadn't even finished. Happened quite a number of times. The breakfast buffet again was very delicious, but no one was allowed to self-serve. You had to ask the staff for each food item to be put on your plate every time, which is so weird and annoying. It seems like they are trying to save food and cut costs. A bit of stingy behavior. I have never encountered this ever before and I travel a lot.

We stayed in Olmi in August 2022. It’s a charming, well managed hotel in the mountains, I loved everything about it. At the reception you are always welcome and helped to find suitable activities. The chef of the restaurant finds perfect mix between local traditional food and gastranomic experiences. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Totally worth to visit and stay.

I spent a lovely weekend at Hotel Degli Olmi located in the heart of the charming Villetta Barrea. The hotel is fresh and clean, and the welcoming family who manages the hotel added a personal touch that made my stay even more memorable. One of the highlights was the inviting pool area, where the kids spent hours enjoying the tranquil surroundings. For families with children, this place is a paradise. The area is brimming with an array of activities that kept the kids entertained and engaged throughout our stay.

Spent 3 nights here. Great family hotel located ina scenic area. Be careful following Google maps though from Scanno! Staff were really really good, very helpful and always smiling. Food served at dinner was great and a loverly spread of food for breakfast everyday. While there is no lift for the rooms, that was only negative. Lovely view from room, and it was clean and spacious. Definitely recommended if looking for peace and calm in the mountains of Villeta Barrea.
